Privacy Policy

At a glance

EverWell is built so your most personal content — prayers, journal entries, gratitude lists — never leaves your device unencrypted. We collect only what we need to run the app, we do not sell data, and we give you a single tap to delete everything.

• We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
• Your journal is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read it. No plaintext copy exists on our servers.
• Analytics are anonymized. We measure which features are used, not what you write.
• Deletion takes effect in 24 hours. One tap in Settings → Account erases everything tied to you.

What we collect

Account information. If you choose to sign in (optional), we receive your email address and — if you use Google or Apple Sign-In — the minimum profile information that service returns to us. You can use EverWell fully anonymously without signing in.

Subscription information. If you purchase EverWell+, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active but no payment card details.

Encrypted content. Prayer intentions, journal entries, gratitude lists, and verse tags are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. The encryption key is held on your device (and synced via your Apple/Google account if you enable sync). We cannot decrypt this content.

Usage analytics. Anonymized event data — which screens are opened, which features are used, which devotionals are popular, and which app errors occur. This data is never tied to your identity or to the contents of what you write.

Device information. Operating system version, device model, language, and app version — used to diagnose crashes and tailor the app to your device.

How we use it

• To run the app — delivering daily devotionals, syncing your data between your own devices, sending reminders you've opted into.
• To improve EverWell — understanding which content resonates, which features are used, where the app breaks.
• To support you — responding to email you send us, resolving bugs, handling account and privacy requests.
• To comply with law — responding to valid legal process when we are required to.

We do not use your content or usage to train AI models, target ads, or build profiles for sale. The app's purpose is to support your morning practice — nothing else.

Who we share with

We share the minimum data required with a small number of vetted service providers under data-processing agreements:

• Google Cloud — hosting the application and encrypted data backups.
• Google Play Billing — processing EverWell+ subscriptions.
• Sentry — crash reporting (scrubbed of personal identifiers).
• Plausible — website analytics (cookieless, aggregate only).

We do not share your content, identity, or usage with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party analytics firms outside this list.

How encryption works

Your journal, prayer intentions, gratitude lists, and any free-text fields are encrypted on-device using industry-standard AES-256 before being synced. The encryption key is derived from your account credentials and never transmitted to our servers in a usable form. This means:

• EverWell staff cannot read your private content — ever.
• If a legal authority compels us to produce your data, we can only produce encrypted blobs we cannot decrypt.
• If you forget your credentials and haven't enabled platform sync, we cannot recover your content for you.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the non-encrypted data we hold about you.
• Correct — update anything we hold that's wrong.
• Delete — erase your account and all associated data (24-hour SLA). See our step-by-step account deletion guide.
• Export — receive a portable copy of your journal and prayer entries.
• Object — tell us to stop processing your data, where the law permits.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@everwell.app. We respond within 24 hours.

Children

EverWell is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll remove it immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app and by email (if you've signed in) at least 14 days before they take effect. Non-material changes — grammar fixes, clarifications — will be noted by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
